For the first time since our shift change on Tuesday, we were fortunate enough to see the sun rise this morning! Even though it was through a sliver of clear sky and lasted mere minutes, up here, we take what we can get! The horseshoe looking cloud formation occurs when a small section of a cumulus cloud passes over a column of relatively warmer, rising air, which pushes a section of the cloud above. The other picture was simply cool to see, with the early morning sunlight refracting through a bit of cloud. We certainly do not take these moments for granted! ... See MoreSee Less

Wind slackened this afternoon though gusts moved a bit of snow around and kept visibility low and hazard rating Considerable. It seems like the real loading will occur tonight and tomorrow. We picked up another inch or two of snow today and may pick up 1-3” more tonight. Expect unstable conditions to continue into tomorrow. Wind speed seems low enough to preserve snow in the glades at lower elevations so have fun with that until stability improves on bigger, steeper slopes in the Ravines. Quite a bit of snow now in the fetch waiting for higher wind speeds. ... See MoreSee Less
