Baxter State Park

KATAHDIN TRAILS CLOSED

We understand your frustrations. We would love to be able to open our trails, but we must put the protection of the trails and resource above all else.

This assessment and attached images of the Hunt Trail are from our Trails Specialist:

"Aside from the the massive amount of water and sediment making its way down the trail there is also the issue of snow. As you reach the 2.5 mile mark you're hit with a corridor that's socked in with roughly 2 feet of snow. Conditions are fairly hazardous and again have the potential to do a lot of damage to the natural resources in the area."

Thank you for continuing to preserve this amazing place!

Thank you, thank you.

Thank you for prioritizing our natural world! Utah public land management would do well to follow your example!

Thank you for protecting our park!

Thank you for protecting the park. More treasures should be cared for like Baxter.

Keep protecting it for us and our children!

I know you're probably dealing with a lot of frustrated hikers right now. I just want you to know there are plenty of us who understand the reasons for all the rules and delays and truly appreciate how much the park takes care of this wild place for everyone.

Keep posting pics. Fun to see.

Didier Robert-Lacroix j'aime!

Trail. Waterfall. Whatever. 😯

AT? Shoot, that was actually pretty nice trail tread.
