From the road the cliffs look exciting with all the snow covering the ice that's there but don't be deceived! It's crap.
I backed off a couple routes. Float Like a Butterfly start looked great from 50 feet away but was eggshells. 20 Below is good where it's steep right off the ground but 10 feet up it's just a crappy shell of ice or rock under snow. I ended up just settling for bouldering at the base.
Water is still running underneath the ice and not getting fatter. Here's to hoping tonight's sub-zero temps change that. All that said, there's hope that the Mindbender amphitheater, which has a lot of water, will form up by the weekend!

12/16 - A party was on Tablets Right this afternoon and I heard one over in the 20 Below area too. Routes at that end are OK but a bit thin in spots still. I stopped 30 feet short of the top on Center Tablets. The ice was delaminated too much to risk continuing up the slab so I rapped off a thread in the thick ice there. The start was very thin too but the vertical ice was great. Mindbender area is growing fast. Plug N' Chug and Renormalization might be climbable but I didn't walk up there. Forget about stuff in the Last Gent area. It needs a thaw and refreeze.

Open tube near the top of the vertical section on Center Tablets.
