Heading up to Keene Valley/Chapel Pond Saturday before Christmas. Any suggestions for top rope routes that are likely to be in? We don't have screws (yet), so walk-off options are key. We will probably head to Pitchoff, but other suggestions are appreciated too. I have a copy of Blue Lines 2 and the Mountain Project app but it isn't always easy to tell which routes are accessible from the top. Thanks!

The Pitchoff faces are indeed your best bet. At the other end of the convenience (and crowding) spectrum is Underwood Canyon. One hour approach and TR-able lines. But there's a catch; several catches actually: the approach is confusing if there aren't tracks to follow. And the routes can't be seen from above, so setting up is a challenge if you aren't familiar with the area. Overall I would say it's the most adventurous top-roping around. How's THAT for an oxymoron? If you go, the Stooges and Big Blue tend to be most reliable early in the season like this.

Thanks for the feedback - Pitchoff it is. Underwood Canyon sounds like a fun adventure later in the season!
