Several crews of ASG climbers were out getting the icy new goods in waning days of 2015. Here's what they found: Frankenstein--Photos from 12/29. The Trestle was TR-able, with several good lines. Slabs had oddly transformed from ice on 12/28 to baseless s'nice on 12/29. Other climbs were building, all looked wet. Seemed several people are discussing if Standard is ready--probably doable, but mainly a wet solo in reality. Shoestring--Still thin, but easier travel than last week, with snow locking more rock into place. The river is still completely unfrozen, so we crossed at the Ethan Pond Trailhead and then went upriver from there. Willard--Upper and Lower Hitchcock provided interesting thin and mixed climbing. See photos. Elephants Head--the right line went nicely, with sticky ice--the only ice we've yet found that accepted 16cm screws. I'll try to post some conditions photos in the "Photos" section--first attempt on the great looking new North East Ice site. Some other climb photos can be found on our FB page. Happy Icy New 2016!
